Currently, the Chubb service operational area includes Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming and select Texas counties.
Chubb refers to the insurers of the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies. Chubb Personal Insurance (CPI) is the personal lines property and casualty strategic business unit of Chubb & Son, a division of Federal Insurance Company, as manager and/or agent for the insurers of the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies. Actual coverage is subject to the language of the policies as issued.
The coverages and services described in the literature are not available in all jurisdictions, and are not available to condominium, cooperative or renter policyholders, but are available to houses under construction and houses that are rented to others. Wildfire Defense coverage is triggered only when a wildfire is within three miles of a residence or when a civil authority initiates an evacuation order as a result of an approaching wildfire. Chubb and its representatives will use their best efforts to provide these services. There may be instances when Chubb will not be able to provide these services. There is no guarantee that these services will prevent damage.
WDS provides Chubb key services including:
- Policyholder Wildfire Education: To promote the guidelines established by the Federal Firewise Program and similar state programs.
- Policyholder Threat Notification: Recurrent monitoring of policyholder properties in relation to active wildfire.
- Coordination with Incident Command: The site Incident Command established by municipal fire departments, state or federal wildfire agencies. Radio communication capabilities include radio cloning to meet IC communications needs.
- Pre-Suppression Services: This is not a first responder service; rather, work will be performed in support of local, state and federal responders. Pre-suppression defensive measures may include emergency fuel mitigation, zone sprinkler system setup, fuel break preparation and fire blocking gel application.
