Wildfire Assessment
This combination of elements creates a wildfire assessment process; an underwriting supplement to evaluate wildfire threat level and address any necessary mitigation required before binding new policies or annual renewal of policies. WDS has performed more than 26,000 individual wildfire assessments, which reflects our position as the largest national provider of NWCG 310-1 (National Wildfire Training Code) qualified wildfire risk assessment services.

Design of Underwriting Requirements: Using established state and federal guidelines, wildfire research and WDS insurer services program experience, WDS can design and provide support to update our insurer’s wildfire underwriting requirements.

On-Site Wildfire Risk Consultation/Inspection: This program provides a concierge-style “boots-on-the-ground” inspection of the property.

WDSpro Mobile Application [pat. pend.]: This cutting edge WDS program is extremely cost-effective through mobile technology and is intended to create solutions for our insurers for a very small cost of insured value.

Wildfire Hazard Assessment Reports (On-Site and Mobile Programs): Following the site visit/inspection a final report is produced to assist in underwriting and mitigation decisions.

Policyholder Wildfire Education: WDS enhances policyholder wildfire education by conducting site visits/inspections using professional firefighters to provide the policyholder with firsthand experience from real firefighters with mitigation recommendations.

Underwriting Support and Education: WDS can provide tailored products to meet varying situations and to support an insurer wildfire loss prevention objective.

Post Mitigation Inspections: Post mitigation inspections are performed to ensure that the policyholder took actions necessary to meet insurer wildfire underwriting requirements and ensure mitigation actions are maintained on the property.
